My practice and my work as a Movement Medicine Teacher is deeply part of who I am. I’ve taught and worked in this field for many years: over ten years as a primary school teacher and as a teacher for children with special needs – in these roles movement play, embodied creativity and the wisdom of the body in motion was always at the heart of my work. I then gave up teaching in 1998 to study on the MA programme at The Laban Centre and to develop my work as a Dance Movement Psychotherapist and as a freelance dance artist in the North East of England.
I'm proud to offer Movement Medicine as an element of my work with pregnant women, as part of my work with children with Special Needs and Disabilities and with families and in schools.
I teach Movement Medicine regularly as part of the Newcastle Dance Collective who offer a weekly conscious dance class and in partnership with Gordon Sharp who is a musician and artist - we run courses regionally, nationally and internationally as Elemental Movements.
