Dance into Life

About Ann

“As we tap into the deep sources of bodily wisdom through creative art expression, we dance the renewal, recreation, and healing of ourselves and our world.”    Anna Halprin

Having spent alot of time and effort attaining, studying and being academic I found a fullsome heart and soul experience when I discoved movement practices starting with the 5 Rhythms.  This led me to train as a Movement Medicine teacher with Ya’ Acov and Susannah Darling Khan and I have been teaching since 2016.

In my professional careeer I worked as a Librarian in higher education. I choose this path because at the time I believed that if we only had the knowledge we needed the world would change.  I spent alot of my career trying to grow services.  It was exhausting!  My academic background includes a Masters in Library & Information Science, an MSc in Personal & Organisational Development, qualifications in facilitation, and published work.

I have always been interested in power/politics, campaigning and activism has been a part of my life. Most recently this has focused on seeking accountability and change in the care of older people.

I have also studied the work of Joanna Macy, with the Pachamama Alliance, mythology and lots of different embodiment practices.

I love nature, beauty, photography, poetry and being on this planet.

Increasingly I feel movement as a political act, releasing our hearts and imagination towards our inherent connection and relationship to all of life.
